Geneva, although not the capital of Switzerland, has garnered international fame and stands as a source of immense pride for its citizens. Throughout the centuries, Geneva has served as a meeting ground for influential figures, from the iconic Julius Caesar in 58 BC to the renowned philosopher Jean-Jacques Rousseau, a native son of the region, and the eminent Jean Calvin, a leading figure of the Protestant Reformation.

At the heart of the Old Town, majestically perched on a hill overlooking the lake, stands St. Peter's Cathedral. This architectural marvel serves as a symbol of Geneva's rich past. Hidden within its alleys lie secret passageways, testaments to the city's resilience. These covert pathways once allowed the courageous residents of Geneva to outmaneuver the surprise attacks by the soldiers of the Duke of Savoy in 1602.

During the Escalade, a festival that commemorates the city's defense, one of these secret passageways opens to the public on the second weekend of December, offering a glimpse into Geneva's storied past. Another passageway leads from the Cathedral to the iconic Bourg-de-Four square, depicted in the artwork. This historic square, once a bustling marketplace, now serves as the vibrant heart of the Old Town. Its lively ambiance is enhanced by the presence of historic cafés and popular terraces that come alive during the summer months.

Within the Heritage collection, this artwork captures the essence of Geneva's unique charm and historical significance. Each meticulously crafted piece is printed on Conservation Art Paper, ensuring its exceptional quality and lasting beauty.
