The Legendary Hours
THE LEGENDARY HOURS
Presented within the official Salon at Watches and Wonders 2025, The Legendary Hours marks the unveiling of a trilogy of emblematic compositions where the codes of horology meet the echoes of cultural memory. Each piece explores a different facet of temporal heritage - travel, regatta, and motor racing - through visual languages shaped by precision, ritual, and geometry.
Its presence within the Salon inscribes a distinct gesture: that of repositioning the art of time beyond functionality, into the realm of reverie, symbols, and patrimony.
In the midst of Geneva’s most emblematic setting, The Legendary Hours affirms the legitimacy of artistic creation as a vessel of horological culture: rare in form, enduring in meaning, and conceived to belong among the cultural legacies of time.
HEURE GLORIEUSE
A composition by Atelier WOCS, conceived in homage to the 1948 Grand Prix des Nations, when Geneva hosted a discipline shaped by mastery, precision, and mechanical virtue. The hourglass becomes a measure of control, each grain echoing the cadence of a chronograph, each arc a discreet reference to the geometry of timekeeping.
Twenty-nine grains stand in silent correspondence with the CH 29‑535 PS caliber, articulating the convergence of engineering and symbolic form. Not a race for triumph, but an inscription of permanence.
HEURE ORIENT
A composition by Atelier WOCS, conceived in homage to the golden age of travel, when horology quietly traced its path across continents. A plane at rest, a trunk opened to the dusk, the scene recalls a time when journeys unfolded not in haste, but in anticipation, and time marked presence rather than distance.
The dial becomes a compass of memory. In its centre, Swiss watchmaking extends beyond borders, carried eastward by collectors, connoisseurs, and the quiet transmission of legacy. Here, direction finds its measure in meaning, a passage not outward, but toward permanence.
HEURE MARINE
A composition by Atelier WOCS, Heure Marine pays homage to a discipline where instinct and precision coalesce in silence. Beneath sails drawn taut by purpose, time reveals itself not in acceleration, but in cadence, an inherited rhythm inscribed in the wake of generations. The bezel, partially immersed, evokes a dial as compass, a discreet geometry of motion rendered in equilibrium.
Each curve suggests mastery not through force, but through restraint. Every shift carries the fluid clarity of a perfectly measured maneuver, where elegance guides, and time leaves no trace but memory.
CULTURAL SIGNIFICANCE
Presented within the official Salon at Watches and Wonders 2025, The Legendary Hours marks a pivotal alignment between horological heritage and cultural expression.
In an environment traditionally dedicated to mechanical mastery, this trilogy introduces a new artistic vocabulary, one that interprets time through composition, symbol, and memory.
By drawing on the codes of cadence, ritual, and geometry, these works reaffirm the place of visual culture within the horological realm. Each compositions invites a broader reflection on time not as a mere measure of precision, but as a vessel of meaning, a cultural heirloom shaped by context, movement, and human intent.
