Creation Details

The Lamborghini 350GT, Geneva is an Atelier WOCS creation, celebrating the genesis of Lamborghini’s grand touring heritage. Featuring the marque’s first production model, this piece pays homage to the 350GT’s debut at the 1964 Geneva Motor Show, where it reshaped the landscape of luxury performance.

Produced in a limited edition of 30 numbered pieces, each work is authenticated by the Maison’s seal, individually signed, and accompanied by a Certificate of Authenticity.

The Story Behind

The "Lamborghini 350GT, Geneva" piece captures a historic moment that forever altered the trajectory of sports car design. The introduction of the Lamborghini 350GT at the 1964 Geneva Motor Show marked Lamborghini's audacious entry into the automotive world and established its reputation for unparalleled craftsmanship and performance.

Ferruccio Lamborghini, the visionary behind the brand, had set out to create a grand tourer to rival the dominance of Ferrari. With a background in manufacturing tractors, Lamborghini's approach to car design was influenced by his experience with machinery, a detail that he believed gave him an edge in creating superior vehicles. He wanted a car that was powerful yet comfortable, luxurious yet drivable. The 350GT was the embodiment of this vision, with its elegantly sculpted bodywork by Carrozzeria Touring of Milan and its robust V12 engine designed by Giotto Bizzarrini, a former Ferrari engineer. The engine was a marvel, capable of delivering smooth yet potent performance, distinguishing Lamborghini as a maker of refined but fierce automobiles.

An interesting anecdote from the 350GT’s reveal highlights the meticulous attention to detail that characterized Lamborghini's approach: during the initial prototype's test drive, Ferruccio Lamborghini was not satisfied with the clutch mechanism. This led him to drive the prototype back to the factory directly from the testing grounds, demanding immediate improvements, an episode that epitomized his commitment to perfection.

Set on Geneva's Pont du Mont-Blanc, adorned with flags bearing the aggressive Lamborghini logo from 1964, the artwork reflects the bold spirit that the 350GT introduced to the world. The palette in the artwork, ranging from beige to gold and through to red, pays homage to Michel Martina's iconic 1964 Salon International de l'Automobile de Genève piece, subtly nodding to its color scheme.
