The Story Behind

Imagine yourself transported back to the 1950s, the golden age of motor racing, where the world's most prestigious car manufacturers were competing on the world stage to create the fastest, most beautiful and innovative race cars. Among them, the Mercedes 300 SLR Uhlenhaut coupe stood out, not only for its sleek design and stunning performance but also for its rarity, with only two ever made.

One of these automotive masterpieces has been preserved by Mercedes-Benz and is now on display at the company's corporate museum in Bad Cannstatt, Germany. The other, its only sibling, was recently sold to a private collector for an astonishing $143 million, making it one of the most valuable cars in the world.

But this unique art edition takes you beyond the confines of a museum or a private collection and allows you to experience the Mercedes 300 SLR as it navigates through the winding roads of the San Bernardino Pass in Switzerland. This iconic pass was a popular testing ground for performance cars in the 1950s, including the 300 SLR, which was designated "SL-R" for Sport Leicht-Rennen, or Sport Light-Racing. As you imagine yourself driving through the Swiss Alps, you can almost feel the serenity of a weekend drive on these winding roads.

Overlooking the San Bernardino road is the Piz Uccello, a stunning pyramid-shaped mountain that serves as a landmark for the surrounding village. Its southeast side rises evenly from the Val Vignun, while its northwest side drops almost vertically towards the San Bernardino Pass and Hinterrhein.

This artwork captures the spirit of adventure and the Swiss Dolce Vita, transporting you back to a time of innovation, beauty, and competition. It's a perfect touch of history and elegance to your art collection.
